AMBASSADOR OF PAKISTAN TO FRANCE

A VISIT BY H.E. MR. ASIM IFTIKHAR AHMAD, AMBASSADOR OF PAKISTAN TO FRANCE Pleasant memories never fade away and keep re-surfacing no matter how old they are. The notion was realized when, on January 17, 2024, Divisional Public School & Intermediate College, Lahore welcomed its esteemed alumnus His Excellency Mr. Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. The visit stirred joyous memories as the Ambassador, a career diplomat who served as Additional Secretary for UN and Economic Diplomacy and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, returned to his alma mater to relive the mémorise of his school days.

Upon arrival, His Excellency was warmly greeted by Principal DPS Brig. Khurram Mahmood Rana (R) and members of the DPS Board of Governors, Major (R) Talat Mehmood and Mr. Abrar Ali. A bouquet of flowers was presented, and pleasantries were exchanged over refreshments in the principal's office. The Principal gifted the dignitary a souvenir shield, his 1982 result card, and other documents from his school days. Asim had been a prominent student, securing Second Position in school in Final Matriculation Examinations in 1982. He was a talented sportsman as well having represented his House in various sports competitions.

Amused by picture albums from 1982, His Excellency experienced nostalgia, recalling teachers and friends from the past.
